Internet Safety Tips

Unfortunately we live in a world where there are predators that use the internet as a tool to successfully steal your identity, steal your assets, lure children and many other despicable crimes.  The Monroe Police Department urges everyone to utilize the many resources out there to help you protect yourself and your family so you do not become a victim of Internet crimes.

Halloween Safety Tips

We care about all of the children in our community and we do our best to make sure they are safe.  We recommend that parents read and adhere to our safety tips and call the police if you become suspicious of someone or something.

Lost or Missing Child

It is very important that we teach our children what they should do to prevent themselves from being abducted and what they should do if they become lost.   We urge you to teach children to be aware of strangers and some of the ploys that people use to lure children.  Unfortunately there are children who get abducted in this country everyday but we as the police and the community need to protect our community by being vigilant as parents and by teaching these dangers to children.

Burglary Prevention

By far, the most common threat to our home is burglary. According to the FBI, a burglary occurs somewhere in the United States every 15.4 seconds. By definition, the crime of burglary is a non-confrontational property crime that occurs when we are not at home.  The best method of prevention is to make it difficult for someone to get into your house.  A burglar wants to get into your home as quickly and easy as possible, by implementing some of our tips, you can help deter someone from breaking into your home.
